Ms. Stephanie has been performing and dancing since she was a little girl here in beautiful Wyoming. She attended the University of Wyoming on a scholarship and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, specializing in Dance Performance. After graduation she moved to Chicago to pursue dance as a professional career. There, she apprenticed with Deeply Rooted Dance Theatre II. Ms. Stephanie is grateful to have worked with amazing professionals: Marsha Knight, Jen Deckert, Lawrence Jackson, Margaret Wilson, Jacob Mora, Vincent Brosseau, Peter Pucci, Kevin Iega Jeff, Gary Abbott, and Toby Lyn Bertch. She also has had the privilege to attend intensives from River North Dance Chicago, Thodos Dance Chicago, Same Planet Different World, Hannah Kahn, and LA Dance Magic.

During Ms. Stephanie’s diverse career, she has been part of amazing studios, collegiate recognition, and professional development. As a senior in high school, her dance team was awarded the 4A State Dance Team Champions. She also received several competition awards, including Ms. Spotlight 2004 and 2005.

Throughout her college years, Ms. Stephanie had the honor of dancing in two works that were chosen to be presented at the National American College Dance Festival: Of A Mind choreographed by Marsha Knight, performed at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C., and The PinkBlue choregraphed by Jacob Mora, performed at Columbia University in New York City. Ms. Stephanie’s own choreographic works, Reach and Frying Pan were selected to be performed at Regional ACDF. During her senior year, Ms. Stephanie was presented with the Margaret Arth Award for Excellence for Principle Solo, a large-scale piece combining contact improvisation and non-traditional drawing.

After a few years of dancing and exploring in Chicago, Ms. Stephanie switched hats and became a dance teacher in the Black Hills. She continues to have a long-standing relationship with Academy of Dance Arts in Rapid City and has provided choreography and master classes for 10+ years. She occasionally produces competition pieces for ADA as well as Dance Arts Gillette. During her time in the Hills, she was awarded Best Choreography at Starpower Dance Competition for her contemporary piece. Another honor was working with Mr. Kahler during his last 4 years as an educator, choreographing for the infamous high school show choir in Sundance, Wyoming from 2012-2017 and continues to provide choreography for the school.
